Homework
Reading
In Year 3, it is important that you read with your child at least 5 times a week and sign their reading record. Children can access their reading books through reading plus using their log in details. Reading plus is an adaptive literacy program to improve reading speed, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension for students. We will also provide a book which is at the correct level for their reading if they are unable to access reading plus.

Maths
Magma Maths is a website that makes math learning interactive, enabling students to show work and providing real-time insights into their thinking. Teachers will assigned children work based on their current learning. Use your child's log in to access the lessons.
At the end of Year 4, all children are assessed on their times table facts. You can find more information here. We expect children to be practising their times table on TTRockstars at least twice a week.

Spellings
See weekly spellings where children will learn a new spelling rule and they are tested on understanding this rule the following week. We will also be teaching your child the Year 3 and Year 4 common exception words as well as any Year 1 and Year 2 common exception words too. Weekly spellings will be given out on a Monday to be assessed on the Monday the next week.
P.E.
Our P.E. days are:
3C – Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternoon
3A – Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternoon
3Y - Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon
A gentle reminder that our school P.E. kit is a plain white t-shirt, black shorts and black pumps or trainers for outdoor sports, without visible branding. Children can come to school dressed in their PE kit, as long as it is the proper P.E. uniform. Otherwise, they will need to bring it in a separate bag.
Water bottles and snacks
Don't forget to bring a water bottle to school each day - children need to stay hydrated throughout the day. Please label bottles and refill them each day. Remember we can only drink water or milk, not juice outside of lunchtimes.
Children are welcome to bring a healthy snack, such as fruit and vegetables, to school each day for snack time. Breadsticks and milk can be purchased at the start of each half-term (please speak to the school office about this).
